Hello!

Anchor 1
You want to know about me? Wow! That’s so nice of you!

As you have probably already figured out, I love to write books. Especially if I can make them funny. I like funny books.

I grew up in Salinas, California, down the road from a chocolate factory surrounded by lettuce fields. My dad was a mechanic who loved to race cars and my mom worked at a pet shop. Growing up I spent a lot of time at Laguna Seca Raceway timing my dad as he circled the track and I also spent hours playing with the animals in the pet shop, that is when I wasn't at my grandparent's house by the sea in Pacific Grove or at the Steinbeck Library.

As a grown-up, I moved to Washington state and lived on a secluded mountaintop for many years. My house ran on solar power. In the winter I skied or snowmobiled in and out. I had lots of animals: goats, draft horses, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, and even bees! Today I live in a 100-year-old farmhouse on an organic garlic farm with my husband. We have three amazing kids, two sweet, barky dogs, and two cool cats. (One is fluffy and lovey and one is sleek and grumpy, but we love them both!)

I work as a librarian in a small town in Washington state. I get to talk to people about books and put together fun programs. If you haven’t stopped by your library lately, you should! Libraries are super fun places to be! You might even be able to check out a Unicorn and Yeti book there.
